Our Production Workflow

BRIEFING & CONSULTATION

Duration: 1–3 business days

We analyze your project, your goals, and your budget—during a free initial consultation via video call or phone. You’ll receive a clear recommendation on which service or combination of services makes the most sense for your project. No cookie-cutter quotes, no sales pressure.

PRODUCTION PLANNING

Duration: 2–5 business days

Based on the briefing, we create a detailed production plan: shoot date, scanning strategy, technical requirements, logistics, timeline, and milestones. You will have a dedicated point of contact throughout the process.

POST-PRODUCTION

Duration: 3–10 business days

After the shoot, all 3D data, panoramas, and videos are processed, color-corrected, and quality-checked. Each scan position is manually reviewed. Hotspots, floor plans, labels, and links are set up. You will receive a preview link for approval.

ON-SITE SHOOTING

Duration: 1–7 days (or longer, if necessary)

Our production team comes to you—whether it’s a hotel in Croatia, a cruise ship in dry dock or underway, or a luxury resort in the Maldives. We bring specialized equipment and work according to a pre-agreed scanning plan. For large projects, we work in multiple shifts.

DELIVERY & INTEGRATION

Duration: 1–2 business days

Once you approve the tour, you’ll receive the finished virtual tour as an embed link, a direct URL, and, optionally, as a Google Street View listing. Liquid Ambient will assist with the technical integration into your website, booking system, and OTA profiles—until everything is up and running.

What is the difference between a Matterport 3D Digital Twin and a virtual tour?

A Matterport 3D Digital Twin is a fully three-dimensional model of a real-world space—complete with a floor plan, measurement tool, dollhouse view, and free navigation. A Virtual Tour, on the other hand, is a curated, often linear presentation of spaces designed using individual Digital Twins and/or 360-degree panoramas, videos, hotspots, and custom navigation. The 3D Digital Twin offers more freedom and precision; the Virtual Tour offers more creative flexibility and brand customization. Both formats can be combined.

What is CGI to Matterport, and who is it for?

CGI to Matterport converts architectural 3D renderings or CAD data into the fully navigable Matterport Viewer format. It is the ideal solution for properties that have not yet been built: new ship classes, hotels in the planning phase, or residential projects in presale. Customers can start making bookings even before the first wall is erected.

Can I use Matterport 3D and Google Street View at the same time?

Yes—and we highly recommend this combination. The Matterport tour will be featured on your website and booking platforms. At the same time, we’ll publish an optimized version of the interior images on Google Street View, so that potential guests can get a first impression of your property right in Google Search. Liquid Ambient offers both services as a package.

How many rooms or areas can be captured in a photo shoot?

For a typical hotel shoot, we usually capture 20–40 rooms per day—depending on room size, accessibility, and lighting conditions. For large-scale projects such as cruise ships, we work in multiple shifts and follow a detailed scanning strategy. We create a customized production plan for each project.

Can the completed tours be viewed on smartphones and tablets?

Yes. All Matterport tours, virtual tours, and Google Street View content are fully optimized for mobile devices and run on iOS and Android without requiring the installation of an app. Upon request, Liquid Ambient can also develop native iOS apps with offline mode for use at trade shows or in areas without a stable internet connection.

Are the tours offered in multiple languages?

Hotspots, menu items, and labels can be created in any number of languages. For international projects, we recommend German and English as standard, with optional additional languages. The language version is controlled via a simple URL parameter or a language selection option in the interface.

How long will the completed tours be available, and who hosts them?

Matterport tours are hosted on the Matterport Cloud and can be accessed indefinitely as long as you have an active Matterport subscription. Virtual tours can be hosted on the Matterport Cloud, on your own hosting platform, or on a server operated by Liquid Ambient. We can advise you on the best hosting solution for your needs.

Can Liquid Ambient take over or update existing tours from other providers?

Yes, in many cases. Existing Matterport tours can be supplemented with new scan positions, hotspots can be updated, and links can be changed. For virtual tours created using other technologies, we assess on a case-by-case basis whether migration or a complete rebuild is more appropriate. Please contact us with the login credentials for your existing tour.
